The Bin Faqeeh Boost Run was established in 2018 in partnership with Boost Bahrain to promote health, fitness, and encourage the public to participate in a selection of races and events. It is the first event in the kingdom of Bahrain to bring both professional and non-professional athletes, physically challenged and wheelchair, and as well as kids and their families together. As part of its corporate responsibility, Bin Faqeeh is committed towards impacting and making a difference in the lives of all Expats and Bahrainis in the kingdom and believes that fitness and living a healthy lifestyle is crucial. Bin Faqeeh also believes in creating a sense of community with events such as the Bin Faqeeh Boost Run and wishes to encourage the general public to participate as well.  

In 2018, the first ever Bin Faqeeh Boost Run took place at Treasure Tower in Dilmunia Island, where there was a turnout of over 550 participants of both adults and children. In 2019, the race had a turnout of over 850 participants. For two consecutive years, the race was comprised of 5KM and 10KM race for adults, and a kid’s bike race and inflatable run. The race included and welcome physically challenged and wheelchair athletes and participants. This year’s event and race will be focused on promoting the attendance of the general public and families who wish to enjoy attractions and entertainment or participate in the races. This year’s events will focus mostly on children between 3-16 years of age. This year’s race will be held in prestigious Bahrain Bay where attendees and participants will enjoy the beautiful views in the heart of the capital. The adults race this year consists of 5KM and 10KM run. Additionally, for the first time in the kingdom of Bahrain, the Bin Faqeeh Boost Run 2020 will award the runner who beats last year’s record time of 29:00.00 as the Record Breaker of the 10 KM Bin Faqeeh Boost Run. The runner who completes the 10KM race in 28:59.59 or less will be titled as the record breaker and fastest runner. Bin Faqeeh and Boost Bahrain are excited to be the first to introduce this to the 2020 race and hopes to motivate athletes and runners to compete to win the title and cash prize of 3,000 USD. The kid’s races will consist of a cycling race, and running and obstacle race, with distances from 100M to 3KM for each age category of each child. 

Additionally, this year, Bin Faqeeh and Boost Bahrain are starting the Take The First Step Walkathon to encourage those who are struggling and living with obesity in the kingdom. Understanding that it is a challenge and health and fitness is crucial for all, this year’s walkathon gives those who are looking to start the year a path that leads towards becoming healthy and fit. Bin Faqeeh believes in supporting all and also creating an event that promotes all people to turn out and participate. The 1.5KM course will take participants around Bahrain Bay and the winner of the walkathon will receive a 6-month nutrition meal diet to help them in their first steps towards living healthy.  

Finally, the last addition to this year’s event is the entertainment, where Bin Faqeeh and Boost Bahrain have promoted and welcomed small business and food trucks to attend participate free of charge at the event. Carnival inspired attractions and entertainment will be at the event as well where kids can win prizes and enjoy the different shows and performances. This year promises to be the biggest and the most diverse event in the kingdom. With hopes of appealing to all, Bin Faqeeh seeks to create a sense of togetherness regarding health and fitness.
