Solar energy is one of the most important sources of energy on the surface of the earth. There can be no life on the surface of the earth without solar energy. Solar energy is one of the most important sources of renewable energy or energy that never runs out. It is considered continuous energy that can be obtained without any hassle. 

Solar energy is used in several things and is converted into thermal energy, including: 

1- Heating water at home:  

If we look at the top of the roofs of houses, we will find them filled with solar heaters through which hot water is obtained by collecting sunlight in several mirrors that heat the water quickly. 

2- Heating swimming pools water directly:  

Swimming pools are usually heated directly from the sun's rays by exposing them to the sun or using simple equipment that reflects the sun's rays on the pool to heat it. 

3- Seawater desalination: 

Solar energy can also be used to desalinate seawater in many areas that do not have freshwater or rivers. 

4- Generation of Electricity:  

It is possible to convert solar energy into electrical energy. Recently, specialists are working on developing the use of solar energy in the production of electricity, as many factories have developed solar cells within special stations to generate electricity. 

Although solar energy is renewable and does not cause environmental pollution and its cost is considered low, it carries some cons like:  

- The use of solar energy depends on its availability or the number of hours of sunshine in the area. Therefore, you should try to store solar energy and use it during the evening time or winter seasons.  

- The high cost of equipment used to convert solar energy into light, thermal or electrical energy is relatively high.
