In a major historical achievement, the "Hope Probe" launched by the United Arab Emirates on February 9, 2021, reached Mars. It is the first Arab mission to achieve this great achievement, after a 7-month journey that covered a distance of 494 million kilometers.
With this achievement, the UAE became the fifth country in the world to reach Mars, and it will allow the probe to start sending data on the atmosphere and climate.
The success of the "Hope Probe" in reaching the planet Mars is considered a success for the Arab and Islamic nation, and it is the product of the exceptional effort of the people of the United Arab Emirates who turned the dream into a reality and achieved the aspirations of the Arab generations who continued to haunt the hope of setting a firm foot in the space race.
The Emirates Mars Exploration Project, which costed about 200 USD million, was launched from a Japanese space center and aims for a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere for the first time and to study daily and seasonal variables.
Besides, the probe carries three instruments that will monitor, among other things, how neutral atoms of hydrogen and oxygen in addition to the abundant remnants of water leak from Mars to space.
Andi It is worth noting that to enter the orbit of Mars, the "Hope Probe" needed to burn some of the 800 kilograms of fuel it carries to slow down the speed enough not to avoid overtaking the planet.
